Stock or Ultimate Edition ?

Post » Fri Aug 16, 2013 10:46 am

I haven't actually played this yet, but i'm really pumped, and I also found a way to get the game really cheap (I'm not allowed to post links yet, so i can't tell you where i found it for cheap)

But, i'm confused. If i wanna get the game quickly, i have to pick the normal edition because it's cheaper, but i really wanna try the DLCs to add in the replay value. So which one i should pick ?

And also, i need some newbie tips. Annyone can help ?

Ultimate Edition is worth it.

If you can afford it, I'd get the Ultimate Edition. The DLCs are really good.

If you want tips on playing the game, you'll get better responses starting a thread in the Spoilers section.

Get the Ultimate Edition. There's no excuse to choose the normal version. No matter what the price difference is, Old World Blues alone already makes up for it, if not even more.

But, there's some other things like say, file size, which would affect how long it takes to download it. And, my parents actually supports piracy, and I really don't want to pirate this game, so the funding wiLl only come from slowly trading and selling TF2 items into the Steam Market, which can take forever to gain the money.

I am finding on my fifth play through that there really are not that many quests in this game (nothing like Skyrim anyway), so you definitely want to add the DLC's to have more to do.

And one more thing, how's the game's stealth mechanics ? Is it as good as say, the Thief series ?

The Stealth in this game is better suited for long range sniping, than it is for close combat. It's doable, but since a lot of enemies in this game have guns ... well you know what they say about bringing a knife to a gun fight.

I did play a character that used Melee only and was wicked with a fully upgraded Katana, but you have to be ready to take some damage in doing that, though she did get some stealth kills, so it's not impossible. Plus the Katana has a special attack that does 250% damage, add that to 'Sneak Attack' and the enemy doesn't have a chance.

ultimate edition is easily bought for $19.99 on amazon brand new and you can probably get it used for less. I just picked up a copy a couple of weeks ago.

I just started two days ago on my first play through though so I can't really comment on stealth

Tell your parents they are about to get you kicked out of the boards for this view point.

Scraqe the money together and buy the Ultimate Edition. It's worth it.

Earn some kind of allowance from your parents. Borrow money from friends. Mow a neighbor's lawn. Find old crap of your own and sell it at a pawn shop. Do whatever you have to do to earn the money to buy the game, but make sure you are buying it and not... taking a less noble road to New Vegas.

The game was really cheap a while ago. It was $5.00 in the summer sale!!!!! You could get that easily with a few TF2 items and even easier with steam trading cards. Always go for FONV: UE. The dlcs are worth every penny.
