I Dweam of Dwemer

Post » Sun Aug 18, 2013 12:42 am

I am in the process of completing that quest you are given for that item that helps you out.

I really like poking around Dwemer ruins. The atmosphere, ambient noises, sense of dread, deadly booby-traps, interesting loot and those big white blind rats with long-bows and stabby things.

I had forgotten how much I liked the level design of the Dwemer ruin Bthardamz. In Particular:

Spoiler
Bthardamz Lower District with that central waterfall and winding walkways as well as that craven ampitheatre

What is your favourite Dwemer ruin and why?

Ha. I see what you did there.

I only like the Dwemer cities added in Dragonborn, because they had imagination and interesting puzzle designs, rather than just being a procession of linear corridors like the ones on the mainland.

I agree 100%. The Dwemer Ruins on Solstheim were much, much better than those found in Skyrim.

Dwemer ruins on Solstheim for me although the one with the Aetherium Forge was cool.

I like Alftand. I go in and end up 10000 Septims richer. There is just that much loot.

My favorite is between Arkngthamz, Kagrumez, Kagrenzal, and Bthalft.

That would be Kagrenzal. I agree, it's my favorite one in the base game.

The lake at the bottom reminds me of Smeagol's lake under the mountains.

I like the unique ones. Blackreach, Aetherium Forge, Dragonborn ones are all awesome. Running through basically the same thing (dwemer, falmer, dwemer centurion) with the same traps, same look... just gets kind of boring.
