Standing Stone Help

Post » Sun Aug 18, 2013 11:23 am

I am not sure what Standing Stone I should. I'm going for a kind of Battle Mage/Monster Hunter. I use One Handed but backed up by Shock spells. I'll be focusing on fighting the mythical creatures, ghosts, vampires, magic ect. So I'm thinking using the Apprentice Stone. Even though I get a 100% weakness to magic which will hurt me when I come up against mages but I'm using Enchanting and Restoration (for Wards). Unless there is a better stone? The Atronach Stone maybe?

The Atronach stone all the way, maybe the Lord stone. Personally I would go with the Atronach stone for the 50% spell absorption alone, seeing how you are as well a spell caster the 50 extra points in magicka is a bonus :D

It's well worth the trek, I recently clued up a Paladin/Battlemage hybrid build who only used the Atronach stone. It served him very well, more so once he started to hunt vampires :D Besides helping with magic casters it's as well useful for other things like diseases, they count as spells so you will be 50% resistant to the diseases effects and then there's dragons breath, that counts as magic as well thus the Atronach stone lessens the effects of their fire/frost breath as well.

Tis an all around good standing stone to take both for warriors and mages.

You'll probably want to concentrate on either the Mage or Warrior stone early on to get your respected skill up. Depending on which one you want to do the most damage in your battle tactics to begin with. Battlemage usually opens with spells as long as possible until enemies close in, then it's melee time. One they are more established grab one of those other signs, as above, Atronach/Lord stone.

Definitely the Atronach Stone if you're dedicating yourself to magic users.

If you have the Dawnguard dlc, go for the Aetherial Crown and use both Atronach and Apprentice blessings. Combine this with Alteration's Atronach perk and before the end of the day, you'll know power ;)

From one battlemage/spellsword to another i highly recommend the Lord Stone. The increase of magic resistance really helps when you find yourself fighting mages and vampires. Also invest in the Alteration Magic resistance to boost it even more.

I just recently rolled a new character that used te Atronach Stone. Holy. Hell. For a Mage, it is wildly awesome...IMO.

Except if you're on console who relies on the summoning aspect of Conjuration.
