IMO those are great news...i get it why you don't want vocie acting but even if it's not amazing (which hopefully will be atleast good) it adds a lot more immersion than just stading there lookin at someone's face and reading the subtitles.

True that.

But I hope this game has at least 100000 dialogue lines. Heck, Deus Ex Human Revolution has 200000 why can't Skyrim have it too?

Who says we need voice acting? >____________________>

A whole bunch of people, sadly...

...with the even sadder observation that I've seen more than a few people adamantly insist that everything absolutely must be voiced for immersion, then admit that they click through most of the dialogue themselves- thus raising the issue of how immersive it is to interrupt 90% of the people you talk to yet know what they were going to say.

But I hope this game has at least 100000 dialogue lines. Heck, Deus Ex Human Revolution has 200000 why can't Skyrim have it too?

200,000 lines of dialogue in a Bethesda game? That would mean paying what, 12 voice actors? 15 maybe? :D

I would like a use for Speechcraft. I would like the ability to lie to people based on speechcraft. Convince a guard to help you and he will follow you for 2 minutes before thinking you are leading him on. This way you can get him to help clear out some nasty enemies and such.

Some people don't like it because it (atleast in oblivions case) limited the amount of dialogue in the game, therefore taking out a lot of the non-essencial-to-plot talking points. I wouldn't personally want to return to text either though.

Oh I think that they would be able to hire at least 30-40 for 200.000.
A part of Rage, Brink, Hunted, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas's profit are definately going to be used in Skyrim, and dude that is a lot of money.

I'm sorta hoping Skyrim is their baby they put all their effort and money into to give us the very best of the best :)

Fair enough...can the stodgy grouchy types like me get the concession of a counter that tracks how often you restart, and NPCs going "Dammit, do you want to talk or not?! This is the 12th time you've asked me the same question!!" just for giggles? :)

Lol that would be funny, but yeah a really simple solution to this problem would simply be to have the character halt the conversation and continue, for example:

"blah de blah de blah... Wait I think I hear someone coming.", or " ...Hold on what's that!"

Then after the problems been dealt with, to simply begin the conversation again from the beginning of the interrupted sentence, with an:

"As I was saying ..."

This would definitely add to immersion as it would make conversations seem more natural as well, in spite of merely being a linguistic trick, and it would also be relatively easy to implement as its not difficult to program in due to naturally pauses in language between sentences.

Oh, I'm sure they'd be able to hire 30 or 40 as well.

So, maybe 20 actually hired if there were 200,000 lines of dialogue? Maybe even male and female voices of "Stop right there, criminal scum?"

;)

People do that for their babies? Oh that's why the man in the suit took mine away. I knew he didn't think cardboard crib wasn't fancy enough. And he was going on about "Large amounts of easily accessed bladed and gunpowder weapons".

Wait what?
