Save game merger?

So I just had the most random idea. Say you're playing a pure mage character. Only did Mages' Guild, maybe Telvanni. Then you play a pure sneaker, only does say Thieves' Guild and maybe Morag Tong. Now, those don't cross over hardly at all. What if you wanted your mage and your sneaker to be in the same instance of the world. What if your freshly made mage went to a cave only to find the bandits lying dead, looted, and rotting from some sneaky guy that had come a week or two ago.

Would something like this be even possible? I think it'd have to change/get rid of the thing that makes bodies disappear after 3 days. And obviously it wouldn't work too well if one of the characters was really far into the game because not enough stuff would be left for the other. Maybe 2 early to early-mid range characters...

The game clears out all cell data that is more than 3 game days old. Beyond that it would, theoretically, be possible to open the two saves with Enchanted Editor and copy the records from one of them to the other. Weither or not the merged save game could be played would be as much as anything a matter of chance. The player would be the charcter of the new file if that data was copied or the orignal if left untouched.

... you mean, a bit like a NetHack "bones" file?

I see a new project for Fliggerty :)
