Should S.P.E.C.I.A.L. go?

You know this is happening or will happen sometime in the future. Uncle Todd and the BGS team in a meeting debating if the next Fallout should follow in the footsteps of Skyrim and "Streamline" these kinds of features for a new generation of customers and change it into a simpler choice of choosing health points, action points and stamina. Should it be considered to have a more generic dialogue option than having multiple dialogue choices that would have been there depending on your special attributes? Should it be favored to have infinite level ups and eventually gain all perks?

I would definitely miss it. As I like making characters be different from each other and one of the most fun characters I had was with characters that had low intelligence because the NPCs react in a different based on that. But maybe that's just me. I may be getting old and are getting outdated in these sorts of things and maybe I should get with the times and embrace a more FPS friendly Fallout... I don't know.

Thoughts, opinions?

There will be REVOLUTION like the ones Microsoft was met with when they announced the Xbox One. Probably not, nobody will really notice. Like 10 people will notice, and it probably would be one of the greatest losses. You really shouldn't leave the crafting of a character to be solely on the ingame experience. Stats, skills and perks are the things going on backstage which wraps all the gameplay together, losing it would just seem wrong.

I doubt that beth would be that incompetent. It wouldn't be fallout without a special attribute system.

Special most definitely should not go, but be strengthened by a very large margin.

I wouldn't be surprised at all, though, if the next game didn't have it. Streamlining and trimming down features like these seems to be something of a specialty of Bethesda.

Indeed soon Fallout will turn into another glorified hiking sim like TES has turning into.

WHAT!!! Fallout wouldn't be Fallout without SPECIAL. UnDeCafIndeed is right, it should be strengthened, not removed.
