So the imperial questline was broken at the quest 'Message to Whiterun' but I decided I would try and console command out of the imperial questline and start the stormcloak questline. I managed to leave the imperial questline and I figure that if I can start the jagged crown quest at the part where you have to hand in the crown I could give it to general tullius, which changes your side. Or if there was a console command just to start the message to whiterun quest for the imperials, that'd work. Any help would be good.

With all the damage you have already done to your game trying to advance the last broken quest, you want to mess things up even more?

Those 25 hours of play could have been redone in about 8 to 10 hours (as you know where to go and what to do by now) and you would be where you want to be already, as you have spent about 18 hours trying to console your way out of the mess that you consoled your way into.

In any event, the UESP Wiki has the quest stages for each quest, and you know the commands to enter the stages, so you can try to make this work from that information.

But, really, replay with that older save, and this time have a some hard save slots for about each 2 to 3 hours of gameplay. You can always delete excess saves later, but you will save more time over all recovering from glitches by having a save slot to go back an hour or two.
