Importing a modded face of an NPC for PC

I have http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37861/? and want to rip that Lydia's face off for my character to use. To that end, I installed Enhanced Character Edit that the author gave credit to and I basically replicated everything the mod did (as far as I can get anyway), such as:

1) Changing the FaceTint layers' color
2) Replicating the custom HeadParts, TextureSets and ColorForms
3) Replicating the sliders seen in Character Morph tab

The CK preview render looks pretty much identical, right down to the face texture. I can't be sure about the sliders of course, but the general shape is good when compared side by side to the source, but when seen in-game, they are very different.

I also tried to directly mark the actor as a preset, and when I choose the preset, it gives me a totally different character. The hairstyle doesn't even fit the original, vanilla Lydia.

At this point, I'm feeling a bit lost. Is there some kind of tutorial out there to pull something like this off? The tutorials I've seen all seem to apply only for faces that only use vanilla assets
