Monk Character (and some damage calculations)

So anyone of you guys tried going like this, focusing on Unarmed combat?

I was wondering if this would be a viable alternative to classic damage outputs, so I browsed a little through the information. I came upon this :

Khajiit's base unarmed damage is 22

Fists of Steel will grant bonus to unarmed damage equal to base armor rating of gauntlet armor piece, maximum of 18 for Daedric.

Ring of the Beast will grant 20 damage to unarmed (will this work out of the Vampire Lord form?)

Poison Talons from the Vampire Lord perk tree will grant another 20 (again, will it work out of the form?)

Gloves of the Pugilist allow for unique Fortify Unarmed enchantment which can be applied to gauntlets, rings, amulet.

So that would add up to 80 damage before the enchantments, right? With ring/gauntlet enchantment it could do some really nice damage, don't you think?

So, does anyone have experience with this kind of character? Any tips are welcomed.

The Vampire Lord can only equip the rings of Blood Magic. From http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Vampire_Lord:

"While you are in Vampire Lord form, only the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Amulet_of_Bats, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Amulet_of_The_Gargoyle, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Ring_of_The_Beast, or http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Ring_of_the_Erudite can be used; all of your other equipment is removed automatically."

I will say that this game is not set up for a Monk to succeed, it's a shame. It can be played, but not as effectively as in Morrowind. Can't remember if the killed the Monk in Oblivion too.

I think as a monk you'd only be able to progress so far. Restoration, Illusion and maybe Conjuration (if you're an evil monk type) would realyl be the only things you could do.
