The most dangerous roads in Skyrim?

Post » Sat Aug 24, 2013 2:57 pm

What do you guys think is the most dangerous route to take in the game?

I did the road from Solitude to Markarth, and seven hells, dem Forswornz are dangerous as [censored]. One minute, I'm minding my own damn business, and the next, an ice spike comes flying at me from nowhere. Very nearly didn't make it to markarth in one piece.

The roads of Riften and Winterhold. Too many bears, dangerous for a low level.

I have found that walking across country is so much safer than going on the roads. When I want to have fights along the way, I stick to the roads.

They're all dangerous in their own way but if I had to pick one, definately the ones between Markarth and Solitude.

On Master difficulty, a consistently dangerous route is the road from Winterhold down to Windhelm - there's always either a bear or snow cat just outside town, followed by a troll closer to Whistling Mine (sometimes they end up fighting each other). After you pas the mine, you can opt to cut cross country for the more direct route to Windhelm, but there are ice wraiths, bandits and/or vampires around Snowveil Sanctum. If you decide to stick with the road, there are nasty, nasty necromancers at Fort Kastav (unless you do the civil war and clear it out). Of course, you can slowly sneak past the fort and cross the pass. But you then have to turn left at the main road junction and head to the mill. There's always a troll on the way, and often, a sabre cat as well. Once you cross the bridge, there's another scripted encounter with a sabre cat on the way to the Windhelm stable and the carriage.

In the Reach, it's the Forsworn, and it's tough to avoid the roads and go cross-country because of the mountainous terrain. In the Rift, it's the damn bears, and you can't seem to avoid them because they're even more numerous if you go cross-country. But yeah, that road from Winterhold to Windhelm is a tough slog!

All roads are dangerous, Skyrim really need patrol guards....at least we can hide behind them or traveling with them at low levels. There are some hunters in some roads/routes but they are not a reliable ally

Funnily the safest road is from Helgen crossing the mountain to the end of of that mountain near Ivarstead, although there is Haemar Shame that contain vampires, they never came out as far as i play

Well, as a higher level sword/shield character I cant' say that I've actually run into anything too particularly difficult (Legedary Dif). Forsworn are more annoying than challenging, except for those Briarhearts. They hit like at goddamned truck.

In the Rift though I don't have a problem with bears, mt lions, etc either, so I can't really say that its it Rift.

Mages do a lot of damage to me even with a 40% resistance to magic. I suppose carrying around Spellbreaker would make that easier...

I'll go with the Reach only because of those damned Briarhearts.

Actually I've always passed up alchemy. I've just never had the patience for it. xD

My armor rating on my Daedric armor is close to 2k, so it makes the game easier. :P
