How do you Multi Class?

Post » Sat Aug 24, 2013 12:57 pm

Hey all.. I was just wondering how you each keep yourselves able to play multiple different characters, without forgetting where each is, on what quest, and what rp setup you may have?>

So far, ive done 3 sword and board characters (one very high lvl, with hundreds of hours, and i formatted my ps3, losing him, and 2-4 others lower-mid lvl alts) I guess what im asking is, to avoid getting burnt out, and im beginning to feel it on my current Paladin, id like to play other classes.. Not just to avoid burnout, but to get to experience each spec, or more of them...hat tips can you give someone who loves most rpgs, and keeps them for years to replay them over and over again? How do you play multiples, without losing your place? What do you make sure you do differently for each? Any info is appreciated..Ty

To be clear, ive still got every system ive ever owned since the 80's, plus my Atari...9600? And the main games i tend to keep are rpg's, and they rarely get old...Zelda's, all the Final Fantasies, and most everything recent, but theyre mostly just 1 character, not so much allowed to build multiple classes..RPG's are just my thing, and theyve kept me outve prison, clean, and sober for the last 10yrs...With a wife, 4 kids, and a mortgage, i spend anytime not at work, at home..

Well, that's a challenge, especially when you've got more than a dozen characters like I do. I used to keep handwritten journals for each character for that very purpose. But lately I have been too lazy to do that. If I haven't played a character in a while, it can take an hour or more just trying to get back into character. First thing I do is review my entire inventory, skills, spells, etc. if I have a home I may wander through it to see what's there. Just spend some time trying to get back into the characters skin before going out adventuring.

^^^ This right here. I do the same thing. Being on PS3, I can have no more than 3 characters at one time. But I'll usually play one of them for about a month or so. If I get bored I'll create a new one. But if I do go back to an older one I definately look through the inventory, house and such. Only thing I do know off the top of my head is what their character style is.

I've got 4 active characters (spellsword, thief/assassin, mage, warrior), and I just check the quest logs to see what they're doing, and what they'd most recently done if I'd forgotten, but most of the time I can remember where I'm at with each one. They've all got different "home bases" and different motivations and stories, so it makes each session different even when doing the same missions that other characters have already done. It also leaves more of the land unexplored so that some characters find stuff that another character with 100 more hours hasn't come across yet.

ok.. This is generally what ive done in the past.. As said, it takes an hour or so before reaquainting yourself, and was glad to hear that im no different that the rest... The journal may be a good idea however...May be somethng i adopt for myself..Its just always dicouraging for me, tyhose opening few hours of play..Thats any game really though.. I dont enjoy exploits, or cheats.. Definitly no modding..I like to get the m,ost fun/enjoyment out of a game.. For me, anything that isnt 'earned' just feels like i cheated myself, and am undeserving of what came from whatever cheat i used.. It just cheapens my experience.. Though i dont knock any who do really... Whatever makes it more fun for you..

@DaedricDovah: I too am on the ps3, why are you only allowed 3 characters? Ive had as manby as 8 myself, with 2 save files over 12&14 mb in size...

Ty all for the replies.. It was very helpful to me .. And still, any additional info anyone else would like to leave would be greatly appreciated as well..
