to join a side, or not to join a side .

wrong

1) they didn't kill the Ayleids because they believed in human superiority, they killed them because the Ayleids were enslaving man.
Its called "The Alessian Slave Rebellion" for a reason.

2) the Empire that killed the Ayleids is not the same Empire that we see in Skyrim..
the Ayleids were killed during the First Empire (aka the Alessian Empire).

in the 4th Era, its the Third Empire (I say it should be the fourth, but all refernces claim its still the 3rd...)

Indeed.

If you don't know which side to join, but want to join a side, you should travel around Skyrim and listen to people and what they have to say, and read books that deal with the situation around the civil war and the Great War. Make sure to not take anything on face value, but try to see if there are conflicting ideas and which one has more accurate information.

There is also a small collection of links and the like I've saved for myself, if you want access to some easy information. Not everything is covered though. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XhO0SW7PrM-UVtk6shls_bOcm2CN8CvvtxOWo1nc75I/edit?pli=1 There are some spoilers in some of the links.

What's worse... your hatred for the Thalmor and their Imperial lapdogs or your hatred for the megalomaniac Ulfric and the Stormcloaks? Whoever you hate the most, side with their enemy.

Completely missed the point. It doesn't matter if superiority was the intention or not. It was still the outcome. Due to the actions of Pelinal and then Talos, elven power has been on a decline.

simply because elvish power is on the decline does not mean the empire believes in "Human Superiority", and saying it does is a stretch.

Well Ulfiric and his Stormcloaks think that ,but half of Skyrim does not.

Skyrim never officially seceded from the empire,Ulfric betrayed the empire and broke his oath, that's all.

I didn't say they believe it. I'm saying it represents it. Which it does. Which is another reason for the Thalmor's agenda.
