Schools in Tamriel?

Do schools exist in Tamriel? I mean normal schools, schools in which reading, math, etc are teached, not schools in which magic is teached.

Since gods like Xarxes and Julianos are associated with education, the Altmer, Imperials, and Bretons probably have educational institutions not tied to magic. In Skyrim you have the Bard's College, so there are places to learn history, music, and literature. Like any advanced civilization the most "sophisticated" races would have universities, colleges, and academies of various kinds.

You know, rich people can also have childs. And these childs don't necessarily need to become skilled in magic.

Imperials are described as educated and most Dunmer were educated by the Temple. In order to formally educate the majority of their populations, they must have had schools in some form or another.

Given that Magicka is roughly equivalent to our own physical sciences, maybe some Arcane institutions also offer courses in the humanities.

I think I've read something about the Mages Guild teaching things besides magic. We can assume that the various temples of the Divines offer some kind of basic schooling for their communities - even if it's just to teach the children about the Nine Divines. The Tribunal Temple is known to offer teaching (the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/interviews-alvur-reldsmentions lessons on the saints and principles of architecture). There's also the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:University_of_Gwylim_Press, which seems to focus more on history and archeology besides the magical arts. We don't know much about Gwylim, however (I don't think we even know where it is - High Rock, presumably)

In Daggerfall, instead of temples of Julianos they had Schools. I assume such places would exist in places like Cyrodiil as well. Not so sure about Skyrim as they renounced worship of Jhunal long ago, although with their recent imperialization I can see there being a few normal schools in the larger cities like Solitude.
