I have recently purchased a new laptop w/ windows 8 and wanted to play Oblivion. After successfully installing the game and starting a new save the game plays the opening cinematic, then as it goes to the character selection menu, the menu appears but nothing else does. The entire world is black as if it never loads through, but al the menus work perfectly, and the map is there as i can walk around the beginning dungeon and hear the Dark Elf speaking. the entire world just happens to not be working. Any ideas?
