All well and good, but sometimes life is more important that freedoms, sadly. Fanaticism kills life just as well as corruption of human "morals."

Well you also can't lump everyone together. I'm not proposing a baby boom for anyone. Not the Thalmor, either, since of any of the Altmer, they're probably the fanatics about eugenics- they are more likely to breed goblin armies than take the risk of polluting the "superiorly bred Mer." As for the humans, I don't think anyone is doing great lately.
Authoritarian rule works if you can enforce it, but that's not been the case for the Cyrodiilic empire in a long time. The idea that they're going to suddenly do a turn when in 200 years they've been in decline seems like a very unrealistic bet, more nostalgia than anything.
I'm confused. When I say "the empire," I mean the Cyrodiilic empire. What do you mean by "the empire will lead the fight" if it's not Cyrodiil leading it?
No offense, I think you're just not well informed about the background. A lot of people have protested the Talos ban. It was also http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim%27s_Rule Nords wanted to kick the empire out. It's more the straw that broke the camel's back.
And freedom is nothing without the life needed to live with that freedom.
Sunni don't recognize Syiah and Syiah don't recognize Sunni, both are Muslims, only different sect. Sunni call Syiah as heretic, and Syiah call Sunni as heretic. So Sunni countries don't allow Syiah practice their things not considered as against religious freedom since both are Muslims. But if Sunni countries not allow Christians to practice their belief or Christian lands don't allow Muslims to practice then that we can call it as against freedom of religion.
So now, the Thalmor, the Empire and everyone even the Nords are in fact in the same religion. Ulfric is the Wahhabis within Sunni, the extremists, and Stormcloak is like the Al Qaeda, and they preach hatred toward their own peoples and toward the people of their own religion as well other religions. "Jihaaad!!!" and kill everyone they call as infidels.
That is Ulfric and Stormcloak, the Osama ben Laden and Al Qaeda of the Nords
Which is redundant. If you have no freedom, then the life you live is pointless. I'd quote BF, but it would come off as pretentious.
Your main problem is you are comparing situations that do not in the slightest compare, especially in a world where the gods are for a fact real. I can't discuss with you if you don't know the lore or Talos's significance.
Kind of agreed. I would rather live without certain freedoms, than die fighting for the freedoms I might not be able to enjoy if I die.
Cowardice vs Fanaticism is the name of the game.
Well... I'll give you credit for not pulling the Hitler card.
What an interesting anology... But I think that is a little of a streeeeeeeetch. Just a little...
Fair enough regarding population growths. I will continue to view the Thalmor's failure in Hammerfell as a sign of a major weakness however. If they can't beat Hammerfell, how can they beat the Empire especially if they win in Skyrim.
And I agree that the Empire is less than likely to be able to consolidate its rule. I merely said that it would have to be done if the Empire wants to survive.
No, they're not. You need to do some background reading. Start http://www.imperial-library.info/content/monomyth-myth-aurbis, then go to http://www.imperial-library.info/content/childrens-anuad, http://www.imperial-library.info/content/varieties-faith-empire and http://www.imperial-library.info/content/gods-and-worship. And http://www.imperial-library.info/content/cosmology.
Some of the gods have various aspects which manifest due to different beliefs, but that is not the same thing. The Thalmor want to eradicate Talos worship and they don't accept Talos as a god. Furthermore Ulfric is not a religious extremist. The main issue for him is Nord sovereignty over their own land, i.e. Nords shouldn't have to do what elves tell them to do, period. Whether that be who they worship or how they rule themselves or whatever.
It is obvious that nobody thinks the same.
