Are you even trying, Bethesda?

What is up with the slaughtering of the Dremora in this game? They look terrible!

They look like goats with red facial tattoos. Compare that to this:

Are you telling me that you couldn't afford the time to make Dremora look good? You're telling me the artist who made the tattoo couldn't have made an actual face texture instead? You're telling me you couldn't make better horns or a new hairstyle? What were you spending those two hours on instead?

No, you don't get points for creatively re-using assets, because the end result looks terrible.

And don't even get me started on the Snow Elves. If you're going to put something that crucial into a DLC.....sigh......

Anybody else feel the same way?

Well Dremora are encountered very rarely in Skyrim, only at Dagon's shrine and Azura's Star, so it makes sense they wouldn't spend too much time on them.

Especially since many aspect of the game say "rushed" almost aloud :hehe:

Bethesda should hire many of the people who make mods. Specifically the amazing people at the unofficial patch team.

That fan made Dremora is a little much.

I'm more considered with the voice of the Dremora, they seem to sound like a bunch of robotic eunuchs with a cancer problem in comparison to the Dremora in Oblivion

I love how you are always one of the first 3 people to comment on a new thread :icecream:

I see you don't use Sanguine's Rose much. ;)

No, but seriously. I agree somewhat - the Dremora could have looked a little less like Dunmer with red face paint and misfitted horns - but it's not THAT bad. There are definitely some aspects of the game I wish they had spent a little more time and effort on, but changing the Dremora look isn't one of them.

I haven't played the previous titles (Played Oblivion, but not long), but out of those, I like the Dremora from Morrowind.

Dremora are in quite a few places in the game. Maybe they avoided more because they knew they looked like goat [censored]. ;)

I don't know, this is a VERY visual game, and they clearly spent a ton of effort in the art department. So it's cutting corners like this that seems very silly to me.

To be fair, what could they have done with the Falmer when the lore dictates that they really are just Aldmer with icy skin?

And yeah, while the Dremora could have been more than just giant Dunmer with horns, I do not have the same of amount of pain in my rectum about it as you do because I believe that Skyrim had bigger issues than the appearances of the Dremora.

The more I think about it, the more it seems the suits are to blame.

Think about it, if you were a dev, wouldn't you want to make a badass dremora if you could? If the devs love their games and are gamers themselves, which I believe it's true, the only reason for results like this are nazi contracts and employers demanding you to only do what you are told.

I agree. I believe many devs do not play their own games.

But the effort they did put into the Dremora in Skyrim clearly could've been done better. They have custom hair eyes and a tat.

Between Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, I prefer Skyrim's Dremora.

Have you seen the Dremora from Oblivion? http://images.uesp.net/5/5a/OB-npc-Kathutet.jpg

The goat horns seem to be a staple of basic Dremora and possibly symbolize a lesser demon. Did you really expect them to have epic horns like this http://www.milesteves.com/gallery/d/2052-2/Legend+-+Darkness-17.jpg?

I don't see why not. Skyrim has re-invented many things in the lore, but the Dremora have taken a step backward.

Dremora aren't demons and definetly shouldn't look like demons. If they wouldn't look like Dunmer, then they would be allright, but their voice is just stupid.

The less human a dremora looks the better. Morrowind wins it, in my book.

Like when I got excited when I first crafted the dragonbone arrows... yeah, the quiver is a retexture of the steel arrows. Dissapointed.

Concerning the dremora, those altmers sure came in handy. Just paint them black or make them pale... whatever.
