Skyrim's Sweet Spot

Post » Tue Sep 03, 2013 1:38 pm

I find that Skyrim hits a sweet spot between levels 20 and 40 where the game is challenging and enjoyable. By the 50s, and certainly the 60s, it becomes too easy.

Trying something new as of last night. Created a personal leveling mod that accelerates speechcraft, sneak, and pickpocket and significantly slows down everything else. The result should be a character that is a good pure non-combat thief but pretty hopeless at everything else for awhile. The advances in those three skills will level my character and his opponents, forcing me to focus on sneak until he slowly gets better at sword play. The slow leveling and avoidance of tertiary skills (no alchemy, enchanting, limited smithing, etc.) will hopefully keep him in that sweet spot for a long time.

This is the first time thatI have tried something like this. Was wondering wht others thought.

For me, the sweet spot is between level 25-35. Something challenging about it. I'm currently level 54 on Expert. I'll probably change it to Master if I get on today.
