An army against the Thalmor

Post » Wed Sep 04, 2013 12:48 pm

As the Dragonborn will not be in subsequent Elder Scrolls titles I omit that character from the list.

All four human provinces.

Dremora, Aureal and Mazken armies as allies through deals with Mehrunes Dagon and Sheogorath. (Would become playable races.)

Resistance from Dominion Territories.

OP said realistic. What could you possibly offer Mehrunes and Sheogorath that would gain their support (If that were even possible, due to the barrier)?

I don't offer anything to fictional characters. Nevertheless, Bethesda could easily write the storyline to make it happen.

 so much derp.

The Dragonborn

The company of heros (my own little squad of elite fighters)

Odahviing, Durnehviir with his undead army AND Paarthurnax with his dragon followers ([censored] just go real)

The entire Imperial Legion

The Companions

Hammerfell i assume is a safe bet

Any remaining Stormcloak forces

Pockets of rebels that fight the Dominon.

Not much of an answer. You said offer them something for an agreement, but what?

And saying they could easily write something does nothing for the discussion either.

Breton, like I have said to you at Numerous points..

1) the majority of people in Tamriel would not accept Daedra in their towns.. So Dremora Aureal and Mazken will never be playable races (unless its in a spin-off title like Battlespire or Redguard).

2) a Daedra Army is pretty much Impossible after the Oblivion Crisis, the Barriers are no longer Generated by the Dragonfires.. they are just there permanently thanks to Martins Covenant with Akatosh.. thus Daedra can no longer poor out in large numbers like we saw during the Oblivion Crisis...

I would like to point out though, no matter what force the rest of Tamriel can muster, its gonna be a hard battle...

I mean, the Dominion:

they have the Altmer (who are one of the most gifted races in terms of magic),

I can guarantee the Imga will side with them (as the Imga see Aldmeri society as "perfect" and try to emulate it),

they have a large number of Bosmer (meaning worse comes to worse they can Invoke the Wild Hunt, which alone has been known to defeat armies),

since they Occupy half of Elsweyr I am sure they have some Khajiit backing...

I wouldn't even be Surprised if the Dunmer of Morrowind allied themselves with the Dominion (I mean, they are extremely ticked off at the Empire and Nords of Skyrim for various reasons.. I see them more likely to side with a pro-mer group then an alliance that consisted of the Empire or SCs (or both).. the Dunmer don't have great relations with the races of man atm).

so yeah, no matter what force can be mustered, it is going to be one bloody war for both sides..

The Dunmer aren't going to be involved. First, it's not their fight(Dunmer and Altmer are polar opposites. Dunmer hate the Empire and humans and everyone.)

They also have pissed off, extremist Argonians close-by itching for round two...

I wonder what will happen with the Orcs...

They dont have much to gain, but if Orsinium throws its lot in id wager they'd go with the Empire.

even so, the rest of my post is accurate...

and I am not saying the Dunmer would get involved, I am simply saying if they did, I think they would more likely side with the Dominion...

You do realize that the Empire is planning a counter attack on the Dominion, right? Tulius reveals that if you beat the CW on the Imperial's side, so yea, you're wrong.

Now for my list

Not my Dragonborn, they are busy helping Resdayn rebuild
Empire of course
Possible alliance with the Redguard forces
Any resistance groups in the Dominion controlled areas.
Possibly mercenaries

That's pretty much the only realistic way I see it happening.

Uh, why would they? The Dominion is anti-Daedra and do you know who the Dunmer love? The Daedra.

Assuming the Legion wins...

Cyrodill
High Rock
Skyrim

Hammerfell (assuming reconciliations have been made)
Remnants of the Stormcloak Army
Potential Battlemages sent to the College of Winterhold to study the Arcane Arts
Mercenaries (Preferably from the Companions)

Any in Alinor, Valenwood, and Elswhyr (spelled that wrong) that are part of a resistance against the Thalmor.

providing Military support in no way means you are part of the group you are supporting...

the Dunmer are ticked off with everyone at this point.. even though their beliefs and Ideals are pretty much Polar Opposites, that does not mean they would not assist each other..

"Seek the Enemy of your Enemy, and you shall find a friend"

the Dunmer are ticked with pretty much all the races men... if a second war broke out, I can see them putting pressure on Skyrim and Cyrodiil causing them to face a two-front war..

this would not mean the Dunmer Support or agree with the Dominion in anyway.. it would just be a shortly lasted Military alliance with the purpose of taking out Cyrodiil and Skyrim (as the Dunmer are extremely ticked off at both).

doing this would not mean the Dunmer are part of the Dominion, it would just mean they are lending their forces to be able to defeat a mutual opponent..
