I want to ask about this dialogue option because I am rather confused by my game. Long problem short, I've got 3 characters and they've all adopted children and married different NPCs. Some of the spouses talk about kids and some don't, or in one case it's partial. So I want to inquire you guys a bit based on that. I just want to figure out whether I'm experiencing some bug or it's the same with everybody. So please answer the few questions if you like:

1 Do you use any mods that could potentially influence spouse behavior? (if applicable)

2 Who have you married?

3 For each spouse, what houses do you own, and do they talk about kids in any of those houses?

4 Do they still provide homecooked meals? (This may be unrelated, but there is a pattern in my game)

My answers:

Hearthfire unofficial patch and UFO (since all my spouses are followers)

Brelyna, Vilkas, Borgakh

Brelyna: Lakeview, Breezehome, Vlindrel, Proudspire, and she talks about kids in all those houses.

Vilkas: Heljarchen, Breezehome, Honeyside, Hjerim, He talks about kids in city houses but not Heljarchen.

Borgakh: Windstad, Breezehome, Honeyside, and she would not talk about kids at all.

Brelyna: No

Vilkas: No

Borgakh: Yes

A few more comments:

I do remember watching a video about Mjoll's dialogue of how are the kids, and she seems to have the same pattern as Vilkas here (all except HF added house).

And when Borgakh mentioned about skeever in the basemant, she's silent and I only saw subtitles, indicating the orc female voice is not included in any of the HF content.

I'm pretty sure this is your answer. Not all VAs recorded the Hearthfire dialogue, and that's why some spouses don't have it. These are also the followers who can't become steward.

I figured that's probably the case with Borgakh, but what about Vilkas or Mjoll? It seems counter-intuitive that they would have them record that dialogue for all other options but not the houses added by HF.

Anyway I am finding this to be rather disappointing, I got curious after reading a thread in a different forum where someone found the dialogue scripts in Creation Kit and there are some very interesting Orc spouse dialogues, I just wonder if anyone's heard anything like that.
