Your opinion about over enchanted equipment?

Post » Fri Sep 06, 2013 11:31 pm

Everyone is a casual game player in Skyrim, who plays it as a profession or something that must be done… work ?

Skyrim is renowned for it’s casual freedom of choice, and how you can casually play it, and casually not follow the storyline or plot-line, and casually not……..

Think you'll enjoy it .........

My opinion?

Overenchanted is overrated.

Here's my opinion, which is worth exactly nothing ;)

If I have to grind, do some weird restoration loop thingy I read on the net, drink 20 potions then smith/enchant 100 daggers the game has now lost all fun. For me. How utterly boring! I don't have time for that kind of thing. My playtime is for playing the game. Whatever game that is. Of course I feel the same way about playing on some "legendary" setting where every enemy is a punching bag for 15 minutes. That would get old for me very quickly. Enemies aren't any smarter than on Adept or Novice, they just soak up damage. That's it.

Do I think it is cheating? No. A single player game has no cheats. It's up to the player what they do and don't do and how they spend their time in game. If folks enjoy grinding and doing these other things, let them have at it!

I don't have a problem with people using uber enchanted gear caused by a glitch. Of course, people who exploit this glitch then come and complain the game is too easy because of them doing that, but that is something completely different.

To repeat FreeWitch: Here's my opinion, which is worth exactly nothing.

If I can grind some weird restoration loop thingy I read on the net and build the character I like in a few hours, I'm going to do it. :D For me, character developed at game over is utterly boring after the first play-through or two. I don't have time for that kind of thing. My playtime is for playing the game - with the character I like. :D

The game comes with these options to allow us to each play the game how we enjoy. It's not cheating.

This again. If you scroll down just a bit, you would see that it was meant for everyone. Don't let other people dictate what you think.

I care nothing about who was meant to. A guy had a question and wanted our opinion, what's wrong with that?

Grow up and learn to ignore the things that doesn't interest you, instead of saying "I don't care, and look how cool I am by saying so!". Unless you wanna get reported one of these days.

I saw them, and they're equally childish.

Ahh, but this particular game is designed and sold a a "do what you want" game. There can be glitches and things that weren't envisioned by the game creator, but if the rules of the game are "do what you want," then taking advantage of such unintended features is by definition not cheating. ;)

When you play legendary you want all the help you can get especially when traveling alone and fighting 10 to 12 opponents at a time, I find Death Lords attacking enmass to be rather challenging and especially so in those wide open area's where they come from all directions at once and even at 400 damage it takes 3 to 5 hits on some of these guys to kill them and it's not just the weapons they can send you flying around the room just by shouting so fall damage can be devistating as well went through 10 ultimate healing potions and still died it's was lots of fun when I finally won so you do need the over charges which really aren't...

I still don't get why people put their username at the end of posts.

An alternative to having high enchant, is the use of "Sprint", plus having put points into Stamina instead of Health or Magicka, so it's high enough to keep sprinting. In that situation it's also a fun way to play as well, as you only use Sprint when you choose to... and it's less of a "constant".

Enjoy~

The only strong enchantments I make are smithing, alchemy, 1 and 2 handed, archery, sneak and pickpocketing boosts.

If it's how they want to play, then so be it. I think that was the point Shadow was making and it seems people are misinterpreting it as a rude comment. If the player enjoys being powerful and going through things the easy way, it's fine with me. I myself, have no problem with any exploits, but I haven't used any myself.
