If you could change one thing

About Skyrim that isn't in anyway related to the CW or who rules skyrim (because I don't want this to end up as a CW or who should rule what debate) what would it be?

The lore surrounding the other countries and provinces, most particularly the ones that were attacked during the great war like southern cyrodiil and Hammerfell.

More types of undead than Draugr.

I swear, Skyrim has the largest number of undead/necromancer/mage dungeons of any TES game, and yet has such little variety.

The ability to turn off citizen pvssyr. I'm tired of hearing the same canned sentences being said to me over and over again. I miss the simple greetings like "Hello" from past games.

Me too. Along with Spell making, acrobatics, athletics, armor and weapon degradation... I could go on and on :hehe:

Make the main quest feel less urgent at the very beginning so you don't feel forced into it. More like the way Morrowind did it. I know that's been discussed to death though and everyone's probably tired of that topic.

I also wish they would've incorporated the Thalmor more. Considering they're the cause of so many problems and recent changes in Tamriel they felt too "in the background" to me. They just sort of pop up here and there throughout the game. Unless Bethesda is planning on making the Thalmor the focus of the next TES game. If that's the case I could see their presence in Skyrim being a really effective set up for TES 6.

I agree with this too.

Well for the Thalmor it's because they weren't the main focus of skyrim, sure they were a major point in Tamriel's history but for the events of skyrim they didn't necessarily matter for the main quest. Though I agree they should've been fleshed out more.

I would make sure there was no forced quests.

Civil war quest line requires starting the MQ. Parts of the MQ force you to attend the college in Winterhold.

Some random guard says "I hear they are reforming the Dawnguard." And now I got a map update with a misc quest to check it out.

I enter Riften the for the first time and Brylnolf runs up to me and tries to recruit me into the Thieves Guild. Just stop man.

So yeah. I'd fix the forced quests issue and have it so every faction and even the MQ are completely optional.

Make the world both reactive to what you've done and advance regardless of what you don't do; Dragons even if you don't start the MQ, people recognizing you as the Harbringer/Archmage, erc.

Basically, add depth beyond that of a puddle.

One more thing: remove the MQ (including how the game starts), let people make up their huge, complex stories where and how they want it.

The ability to block with two weapons.

In fact, give it its own perk tree.

umm, Breton, it was distributed in Physical form.. I bought it at a local EBGames...

anyways

what would I change..? hmmm good question..... I guess i would have fleshed out the guilds more.. i mean, 3/4 of them just say at the end "Hey new guy, your the new boss!" without having to really prove yourself

Spoiler
say what you want about having to do the Radiant quests for the Thieves Guild before becoming Guildmaster can be boring and repetitive, at least they want to see you have the required skills for the post...

while the others just drop you into the head office without having to really prove you have the skills needed..

This right here. It isn't impossible to block while duel wielding.

Another thing....CW related. I wish the Empire was fleshed out just a bit more.

Having played Skyrim first I didn't understand all the complaints about the magic system. After running through Oblivion and Morrowind, I absolutely agree with them; spellmaking needs to come back.
