Leveling above 100? It never gets above 100

Post » Wed Sep 11, 2013 5:20 pm

I have been getting smithing to 100 in a few weeks. I have never gotten above 100 no matter how much I smith. Yesterday, I was a 100 and took the legendary points for 2nd time, 10 perks. Speech is getting close to 100. I am on 1.9. Should I just keep taking legendary perks? Anyway above 100?

You can't raise a skill above 100. You can only reset it (make it legendary, whatever) and train it again in order to increase your character's overal level.

edit: Well, you can get above 100 if you wear enchanted apparel or drink potions, but it's not what you asked about. Or is it?

What I was going to do was keep getting smithing to 100. Use perks to finish all of the skill items for all the weapons, shield, armor, enchanting and a few other things. My only other issue is carrying everything back home. I made 5 trips with Lydia to Treva's keep. Filled both of us up. I bought a horse one time. It got killed the same day.

The only reasons to reset it is if you:

1) Want to continue to increase your player level.

2) Need the perks back, and don't want to level any other skills to gain them.

3) Don't like to have smithing leveled for role playing reasons.

4) Enjoy leveling it up.

5) Just don't care about smithing and don't want it leveled.

Otherwise, leave it at 100 so you can smith well when you want. It doesn't hurt anything, nor is resetting required.
