So many bugs and glitches !

Hi folks

My name is Benji and I got a really strange problem with my skyrim.

In the begining I played Skyrim on my first computer, it went fine, and started to installing alot of mods to improve the graphics and gameplay and there was no problem what-so-ever.

But than I got a new computer with alot of more power under the hood, and ofc I wanned to try Skyrim and started a new character, but thats when the hell started, the horse in the beging (and cart) went nuts and started to fly around and refused to get back in line, that means that I couldt continue the game, at first I tried to delete all the mods, thinking that was the problem, and started again. same thing again. tried to delete the game from the computer and reinstall it. still the same thing.

After cooling of for 2 weeks, i wanned to try again, and deletet the game and every file I could find on the computer with the name "Skyrim", "elder scroll" etc etc and reinstalled it once again. But once again the same thing. this is making me crazy! when I tried to validate the files, it says that the file need to be replaced and will do so, but nothing happends.

My question is ... what shall I do ? I can't even start a new character. (oh, I did manage to come to the end once, when the horse reached the end, and then it was glitches. so much glitches. unplayable)

Best regards

Benji

Either cap the frame rate at or under 60 FPS or turn on V-Sync. The important thing is to make sure that the FPS doesn't go above 60.

^ - This.

An easy way to cap your maximum framerate is to use http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm. Skyrim's physics do not like crazy-high framerates.

Semi-related question: A lot of people suggest MSI Afterburner for FPS capping. Nvidia has a built-in function for this available through NV Inspector. Nobody ever suggests it though. Does Nvidia's capper not work as intended like a broken BETA feature?

My guess is that more people use Afterburner than they do Nvidia Inspector, so they may not know it has this feature. I didn't know until you mentioned it. I've never had to cap my FPS to make Skyrim's physics work properly (my rig's decent but not that good, but it's good enough for me); I only mentioned Afterburner because a lot of people have fixed this issue with it.

I'll keep Inspector in mind the next time this issue pops up, though.

You say vsync is active, but what is your desktop refresh rate? Do you have a 60hz monitor or a 120hz monitor? If it's a 120hz monitor then set the refresh rate to 60 before you start Skyrim + make sure vsync is still on. You can use the free version of Fraps to check the fps in-game.

Yes, it does matter. V-Sync tries to synchronize the FPS with the refresh rate. You need to cap the FPS to 60 at maximum

What deaths_soul said.

I also have a 144hz monitor, but here's the bad news: We cannot use these monitors to the fullest in Skyrim because of a long existing and well known physics bug that makes creatures and objects go haywire if the fps is above 60-85fps (depending on system and luck). So safest to set the desktop refresh rate to 60, then start Skyrim and you're golden.

I had exactly the same issue as you and capping the framerate is the only way to fix it sadly. For me using vsync to cap the framerate produced the smoothest results and is also the easiest solution. But you could of course try to cap using a frame capper as mentioned above. Either way you need to cap it.

Edit: I see you posted just before me. :)
