Orkey and Maloch

Post » Fri Sep 13, 2013 11:42 am

So...Varieties of Faith mentions both Orkey and Maloch as part of the Nordic pantheon. They are included separately.

And yet, "The True Nature of Orcs" claims that Orkey is the Nordic name for Malacath.

Both are also called Orc gods and tied to the Orsimer, both in Varieties of Faith and in Five Songs of King Wulfharth, which tells a slightly different version of the Nords ages being eaten.

So...are they the same? Are they different? Is one Trinimac and the other is Malacath?

Is it possible that "True Nature of the Orcs" is politically motivated? Trying to tie together Orkey and Malacath into one really good reason for Nords to hate Orcs?

Isn't Mauloch the Orc's name for Malacath? If so, then Orkey could be the Nord name for Malacath.
