C3 does not work at all

Post » Sat Sep 14, 2013 11:15 am

So I decided to play some C3 campaign today. Opened the abomination called origin and double clicked on C3.
I was welcomed by a black screen, no sound no nothing, now 20 minutes later and about 50 attempts to start it game still won't launch. When I go to task manager game process always uses 623 K of memory never less never more.
Having chrome opened in background does not help.

Sounds like the install went a little haywire. Pretty common problem for a lot of PCs and differing installations. Try right clicking on Crysis 3 in origin and selecting repair. Alternatively, try going to the root of where Crysis is installed and just running the crysis3.exe found in the directory. Tell us what happens.

Except I had that problem for a long time, however after few attempts it would always start.
Starting from exe does not help.
Repair is downloading 203 MB of something, we'll see how that works.
Ok Repair did its thing
And

Wait for it

......

NOTHING!
It still won't work

Have a look here: http://secure.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=64888

I don't know if it's exactly the same problem you have, make a copy of the folders before deleting them, just in case.

It worked. Thank you.
Can a world class Crytek programmer explain this to me ? Why do I have to delete files to get my game to work ?

Good question, I'd like to know that, too. My impression is that these files got corrupted and after deletion they are regenerated from fresh copies, but I could be wrong.
