I think NCR would have won due to the fact they have an armed military force with many assets back west. Who do you think would have won the war?

It's pretty apparent

would have won control of New Vegas.

We've gone over this before many times and each time we've come to the conclusion that the Legion would win.

Mr House only really stands a chance if he has a lackey to help him out and no one is as capable as the Courier.

Benny/Yes Man would eventually be pushed by Mr House to make their move and we all know what happens to Benny when he tries to go to the Fort.

As to NCR and Legion, look at the score so far, the Legion blows up the monorail, assassinates the president, has the Omerta's bomb the strip and get support from Great Khans from the west, they've also taken Nelson, ruined Searchlight and ambushed a ranger outpost. When it comes down to NCR and Legion the NCR needs the player one hell of a lot more than the Legion needs him/her. Legion also has a lot of strategy behind their attack on the dam whereas NCR's is overly simplistic, primarily due to their general's incompetence. Without the Courier a lot more things go in the favor of the Legion than it does the NCR.

And going by lore and excluding the absolutely horrendous gameplay mechanics; It's funny how people comment on Legion not using medicine cause I see far more legionnaires with tribal remedies than I see troopers with anything to heal them with. All legionnaires but a few deviations are zealots to Caesar which are willing to slice their own throats rather than be captured by the enemy, do you really think that troopers have the same kind of loyalty and dedication for their nation? And I don't mean a few or more than 50%, I'm talking about 97% of them, cause the Legion is filled with zealots, NCR ain't. Legionnaires are also trained since the day they are old enough to go into combat, they have to endure hardships every day and excel at combat in order to survive, for in the Legion army it is a survival of the fittest. How much training does troopers receive? A couple of months? And what does a lot of them do when they get to their camps? Sit around and play poker, not all of them, but enough of them for it to be a problem.

Legionnaires are also trained to be able to adapt to situations, from stealth to close combat to ranged combat to panic induced total warfare. Troopers aren't.

No matter what the gameplay says about the Legion the lore says something entirely different and I'm going off of that far more than what the piece of [censored] called Gamebryo can provide us. And going by lore and the events that take place without the Couriers intervention the Legion comes out on top. That is not to say that NCR won't give them a fight, cause they will, they most certainly will, but the Legion will win.

But yeah you're right this is a dead horse of a topic. It boils down to a fight between the NCR and Legion. Which splits into a debate on the Legion being evil or not and how big is the NCR and so on...
