OOO new player install instructions, please!

Post » Sun Sep 15, 2013 12:05 pm

i am wanting to install Oscurro's Oblivion Overhaul, but i'm somewhat a newb when it comes to working with OBMM, so i was wondering if someone could provide me with detailed, step-by-step instructions for installing OOO with OBMM.

first off:

1. assume that today is the first day i have ever touched a computer.

2. while i have successfully installed some fairly complicated mods in the past, it was almost always by complete accident or sheer blind luck. as has been the case with my recent misadventures concerning a certain UI mod, i can almost never duplicate the results of a successful install on my own.

3. assume that i don't know what i'm doing.

that being said, if there is anyone who is good with mods, and OOO in particular, who has the patience needed to help a hopeless new player to be able to enjoy the vibrant world of Oscurro's Oblivion Overhaul, the help would be greatly appreciated.

1. For reference, http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1446306-relz-oscuros-oblivion-overhaul-135/?hl=+ooo is the official OOO thread.

2. Make sure your game is installed outside of the Program Files folder. Are you using Steam, or disc? There are slightly different directions for reinstalling depending on which version you have. (Get this correct before moving on.)

***You mention you have OBMM. That will work fine if you only want OOO. If you start installing several mods, you will want to move to a more sophisticated mod manager.***

3. Install the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1445588-relz-unofficial-oblivion-patch-uop/?hl=%20uop(es). Do you have the DLC installed? There are separate http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1252284-relz-unofficial-official-mods-patch-v16/ http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1398731-relz-unofficial-shivering-isles-patch-v151/ for each DLC.

4. Install OOO.

Ask more questions as you go!

If you have OBMM, do you know how to make OMODs? If not, read here: http://tescosi.com/wiki/OMOD_Installation

Read here for a detailed (non-official) guide: http://tescosi.com/wiki/OOO_Installation_Guide

Read the part which says "OOO Installation with OBMM" at the bottom when you continue.

PS: This is for the old version of OOO (v1.33b). You should use the latest version of OOO (v1.35), so best read up on the official thread.
