I did something stupid and now I need help

Post » Mon Sep 16, 2013 4:17 pm

I moved some files around in my system today and now when Skyrim starts there is no data list option or saved games to load . I have the file containing the mods and also the one with all the saves but I can't seem to get them in the right place . I have even tried reinstalling the mods with the Nexus Mod Manager but that does not seem to work either . When I open it the list of the mods are there but the boxes are unchecked . I recheck all the boxes and then activate them with the green check button and it askes me if I want to activate all of the mods or plug in's and I say yes but nothing seems to happen . Again when I start the game I have no data option showing and no saved games

I hope someone can help me with this as I am so far into my last game I do not want to start over . If this can be worked out I will never touch a game file again . I have been at this for hours with no success .

Thanks,

hagar

My saves, and I'm assuming yours as well since it is the default location for a Steam installation, are located in my documents folder, under "My Games", and then, logically, "Skyrim." That's where the .ini files are as well.

Not so sure what to do about your mod issue.

It sounds like when you "moved" files around, the programs have lost their reference directory. I think in NMM you can specify the skyrim file path. Also try verifying game files from steam. If you have moved Skyrim into a different directory, then steam requires you to verify game files.
