I killed Father Elijah, and now have to "Sneak out of the Sierra Madre," before my collar detonates? where is the pipe I'm supposed to follow? The marker sends me all over the vault area. 15 deaths is my limit before I start losing interest & I'm already at 10. I'm at the end of the quest, so I really don't want to have to reload from my last save before entering DM (And all the goodies & 6 level-ups).

don't sneak, run. retrace your steps. the speakers won't go off. you will only die if you don't make out in time. use the local map, it may help a bit. it take me two tries before i made it out. and i didn't try to take any gold.

You have to leave the way you came in, as fast as possible. You have just enough time to reach the entrance to the vault before your collar goes off, running as fast as you can. If you're overencumbered you'll never make it.

Thanks to both of you. I was afraid that'd be the anwer. I've died several times just short of the elevator. Guess I'll have to keep trying until I get the timing.

You can make it crawling.. i had all my new DM gear and all gold trudging along, over encumbered as can be.

Apparently there's some sort of exploit where you can sneak past Elijah and use explosives to make it through the barrier, thus having only a short route to go if you're encumbered.
