? does it correspond to a school of magic so a potion would help?

No. The only way for it to last longer would be a mod, as far as I know.
With all three words,it lasts 18 secs...and recharges in 40 secs,so you are only vulnerable while waiting for it to recharge, for 22 secs...not much time to wait until you can use it again... :shrugs:
it's not enough to survive the fall from meridia down on mount kilkreath. that's why Im asking. the only time I can cast the shout is directly after picking it up, by the time the dialogue is through it has run its course. and Im hellbent on getting the dawnbreaker, so restoration glitch is my only option I think...
I'm assuming that you're trying to survive and dying every time? Because if you're being pre-emptive, I'd actually check to see if you die on the way down. I've done The Break of Dawn multiple times, but I've never died when dropping, and every time I've done the quest, it was on the 360 (haven't gotten around to doing the quest on the PC). Save before you pick up Dawnbreaker off the Pedestal, then grab it and go through the conversation. If you die, reload your save, leave, and start looking to beef up your survivability. If you don't, no time wasted.
ive been at this for awhile now, at first I thought going back to an earlier save would work, but I kept getting the same result. Ive had characters that's completed the quest with no trouble. but not this time. Ive tried aiming for different parts of the altar and so on, tried netch jelly. thanks for your support though.
You tried loading an earlier save and starting the entire quest again? Or an easier one would be saving before you go up, exiting the game and then clearing the system cache (for consoles) and then loading your save and seeing if that fixes the glitch. But if it is a bug and not a problem with system resources, the bug is in your save file, you have to go back to before you caused it and do something differently. What caused it would have to be in that area some where, so going back to before you went there could avoid it.
Another thing to try would be dropping some weight before she grabs you.
This is often caused by carrying too much weight. Try dropping a few things before taking the sword.
Walk towards Meridia as soon as she has lifted you into the sky, thereby dropping onto the area at the base of the statue instead of a longer drop further back.
Skip through the dialogue with her and you will be able to adjust your position before the fall begins. You need to land on the upper area of her pedestal.

If I (or someone) actually knew what/where/when caused it I could try that... But now! I am on my way with 328613888 health, 16656348 armor rating, 1520820224 carry weight and +164306944% healing rate. If this doesnt work then Ill give up
ive troubledshooted like you wouldnt believe, thanks though
BwAHAHA I made it, svck on that meridia, thanks all
Glad to hear you finally escaped mixmax. I thought for the PC users the unofficial patch fixed that bug?
thanks! the uesp said the unoffical patch fixed it yea..
there was a slight side effect thought - my carry weight capacity got reset to 300. but I can live with that
