Khajiit Marriages

Post » Mon Sep 23, 2013 6:58 pm

I am new to the site and was just wondering if there are any new marriage partners in skyrim. Preferibly Khajiit as I am one. And if there aren't then can they be put into the game via update? I mean, I know there are alot of options but that was the one option lef out of the equation. I know there are others that aren't SUPOSED to be partners, Wood Elves, but I have found a marriage partner for every race BUT Khajiits. If there is any information on this please share it with me and if this has been in other post and topics I apologize. I have the Xbox vertion.

First, I'd like to welcome you to the forums. I hope to are with us for a long time.

Then there's the reality that there will be no new updates for Skyrim. Beth is done with it and have moved on to the next best thing. The much anticipated addition to the FO series.

+1

Also, what about Altmer/Redguard males and the entire Bosmer race? Nope. The only thing they may do is patches for game stability, which is needed, but even that will mostly not happen. Skyrim is very likely done (meaning any more patches). :(

They did explain that the reason why they didn't do marriage options for all race and gender possibilities was because marriage options were based more on what made sense story-wise rather than race and gender. In the lore and stories they wrote for TES V: Skyrim, they simply couldn't make marriage with Khajiit characters make sense due to the race being banned from entering the cities, and they just didn't create any Bosmer characters that would make sense as marriage options.

At least, I think that's what the developers tried to say, anyway. I still think they could have done all race and gender possibilities, but that may have simply not been an option at the time for BGS with Skyrim.

Neither of those reasons make sense as a reason to not do them.

Khajiit followers can follow you into cities just fine, and It is only the Khajiit Caravan that is limited to actually going inside.

And there are quite a few Bosmer that seemed like valid Marriage options: Enthir, and Wylandriah.

I have never seen anyone actually point me to the source of Bethesda saying anything about the reason of having those two races not as marriage options, and any rumor given for their reason never makes sense.

I think they should have thought about that when they allowed khajiit-dovahkiins to come and go into cities as they please.

I don't think there's really any solid excuses for not having Khajiit or Bosmer marriage options.

If you can have kharjo as a follower, why not make him marriageable? - it's obvious that he can enter cities (there you go again).

Anyways, either way you look at it, I'm afraid you're straight out-of-luck.

I think in general many absences in representation can be placed on marriage being a rather late addition, and the distribution of potential spouses being arbitrary.

From what I can tell, Bethesda was originally going to allow you marry most anyone, but quickly ran headlong into problems of station, AI schedule, and quest involvement, so they rather arbitrarily designated NPCs are eligible or not (which explains why there are no Bosmer spouses, given that they use generic voice types).

As for Khajiit, there are no female Khajiit with favors and hence there would have been no female Khajiit potential spouses (likely, while making the marriage quest, the designer forgot Kharjo and J'zargo and was under the impression that there were no Khajiit at all with favors and therefore no potential Khajiit spouses; if this seems unbelievable, remember that Bethesda's team has different subsections working on different things at the same time -- the fellows who worked on the College things was probably not the same person who created the Khajiit caravans was probably not the same person who created the marriage-controling quests).

You know how it happens. During specific phases of Masser and Secunda, female Khajiit are in heat.

Then, Khajiit males are drawn to that scent no matter where they are.

In fact, a war almost broke out with Valenwood once because the Wood Elves couldn't stand all that meowing.

Cats do not go into heat.

A female cat is either pregnant, lactating or rutting. They only become fertile after mating.

Their scent does attract males from the whole neighborhood, though.

Plausible, as it explains the Bosmers who would be trivial to fix.

For Khajiit add dialogue for the marriage parts, however this is not an issue with Bosmers.

On pc its plenty of mods who add Khajiit marriage and more Khajiit. However they all use nord voice.

As for Khajiit and cities, this applies to the caravans. Not even Kharjo who was with the caravans get problems as an follower.

If you do the thief guild reputation quests you see that the caravans bad reputation is not entirely false.

Well, the Khajiit argument falls flat since the PC is allowed into the cities even as a Khajiit, and it's only the caravans that are banned.

And the Bosmer argument - wut? Don't make sense how?
