Custom follower battle style? Possible to make?

Post » Tue Sep 24, 2013 12:20 pm

Hello! I am trying to make a monk follower. He would basicaly be unarmed fighter who would support himself with some alteration spells! I have made him and he works perfectly as a follower but if i dont put any weapons in his inventory he fights with his fists though he doesnt use any alteration spells that i have gave him in the creation kit...

TL;DR - Unarmed/alteration follower uses only fists but not the spells, is there anything i can do to make him use spells?

Thank you in advance :)

You can create a custom combat style for him. You'd be interested in setting the multiplier values for unarmed and magic up very high and moving the multiplier for melee and ranged combat very low.

Which Alteration spells are you trying to have him use?

I gave him stoneflesh, or ironflesh i cannot remember, and he just cant use it. I doubt it's magicka because i think i offset it to 500 :P

And yeah i put him his combat style but still it didnt work...

Is your follower's alteration skill high enough?

I don't know the specfics of how the AI works, but when I was experimenting with the NPC AI I found that they wouldn't cast spells if their respective magic skill was too low.

Hmm... that could be the problem. I will try it later today and will post if it did fix my problem!
