Okay guys so here's the deal I've enjoyed fantasy RPG's for as long as i can remember i'm particularly fond of the Witcher and it's world and fiction, yet I've never actually aken the plunge into the Elder Scrolls series. I've played bethesda Rpg's before like Fallout however and greatly enjoyed them :)

but now i've gone and done it havent I ha I bought the Elder Scrolls Anathologly because i couldnt pass up on so much game for so good value!

My question to the community at large is where do i start which game should i jump into? do i go back to the very start or head straight to the very peak of the series with Skyrim?

cheers guys xbenblasterx

If you start with skyrim you will have your fun but then when you go to play the other game you will be let down by them and if you play then in order you then can get story of the series but a hell lot quicker unlike some of us who have been playing most of then if not all of them but yea you will be able to enjoy it more seeing how the series has gone through over the years

Arena and Daggefall can feel a bit too archaic and clumsy for some players. But there's a lot of great fun to be had there if you get into them.

Daggerfall being the better experience.

Morrowind is a big fan favourite, as it was made during the RPG boom of the mid 90s-early 2000s when many of the classic PC games got made.
It does require a bit of patience on your part. It's more difficult, slow and complicated than newer games.
It's what I consider to be the peak of the series so far.

Oblivion and Skyrim are easy to just jump right in and start playing. Skyrim especially is rather casual compared to the older games.

I'd suggest installing all of them, and testing each one out. See which one grabs you first.

And keep in mind that the games have the benefit of community made patches, programs and mods to add to the experience.

Not true for many people.
Many people on the forums have had no problems starting with Skyrim and going back to older games. I see it all the time in the Morrowind forums.
