Oblivion Stutter Remover -- 4.1.0 vs 4.1.24?

Does anyone know the differences between OSR version 4.1.0 and 4.1.24-RC?

Specifically, does version 4.1.0 support heap 6 (otherwise known asThreadHeap3, i.e., the third heap algorithm written by SkyRanger-1), heap 7 or heap 8?

I have version 4.1.0 and it only mentions heap 1-5 in the ini comments. Heap 5 (ThreadHeap 2) seems to be the most popular setting, but that setting crashes my computer upon loading the game.

So, I set iHeapAlgorithm to 6 (ThreadHeap 3). And it seems to work okay. But then I realized that the ini comments for version 4.1.0 don't mention heap 6. So, I am wondering whether version 4.1 supports heap 6 and it just did not make it into the ini comments, or if by setting the iHeapAlgorithm to 6, I just inadvertantly disabled ORS's heap function.

I could always upgrade to 4.1.24, but not sure if there would be a benefit to that, and am a little hesitant, since that was never a full release version like 4.1.0.

If there are any OSR experts out there, I'd like to know what the differences between the versions are and whether it would be a good idea to update to the most current "release candidate" version or stick with the "full release" version.

The readme for 4.1.24 and 4.1.26 doesn't mention Thread Heap 3 (algorithm 6) either. We only learned about it from Skyranger's posts in the forum. No reason not to upgrade. The later versions work fine.

Been so long since I last monkeyed with OSR I needed to check its DLL to see which version I run - 4.1.24. Never updated to 4.1.26, despite downloading it back in the day. I have a very vague recollection that the difference between 4.1.24 and 4.1.26 was something I felt didn't apply to me, thus I saw no reason to update. No reason not to, of course, and I could be misremembering.

(I used to be fairly knowledgeable of OSR and its various settings, but it's Greek to me now.)
