Just Started Skyrim

******PLEASE TRY TO REFRAIN USING ANY SPOILERS!******

I picked up Skyrim, the other day and decided to play a paladin. I played over a hundred hours into Oblivion, so I figured I start on Master since the lower ones were to easy for me it's been tough but I been managing and if it I hit a wall I just lower the settings.. But anyway here's the build I have in mind for my paladin and been doing, every 3 levels increase health, every 2 levels increase stamina then every 5 levels increase 1 mana pool. I don't use a lot of mana since I am doing more of a just healing with buffs type of paladin I find that my health is the biggest thing, which is why I have been focusing so much on that.

I just got the dawnbreak( the sword from Merdia's quest) and that is about it really and I don't have the DLC's and was wondering so I wait till I am a higher level to buy dawnguard then play that DLC since I am under the impression it helps the paladin RPing experience.

Sorry I am not able to post links :(

Just get Dawnguard. Heavy Dawnguard Armor would suit your character.

I think the real challenge for you is deciding where to put your perk points each time you level up. You've got a good plan for managing the attributes, but what about the skills? Does your Paladin use a two-handed weapon? What about a shield? Does he dual wield? What about a ranged attack - archery or destruction magic? Does he sneak? Does illusion magic make sense for his ethics; it's the only way to calm or frighten an opponent instead of killing them.

I suggest you pick three skills and concentrate on getting them really strong. Pick something for melee like one-handed or two-handed, one of the armor types (light or heavy), and either block or archery. If you start to feel really good with these, think about sneak and illusion magic.

Good luck.

yeah, I have a build pretty much done set that I have been following, and so far it's going good. I picked a sword and board char, with archery(since I couldn't take the few dragons I ran into head on) to help with certain enemies. I am focusing on mainly using, heavy armor, restoration, and Alteration spells. I try not to use any destructo magic since it doesn't fit with my RP. I would post my build but not allowed to post links yet.

Alteration is a great school of magic. I love the magic resistance and Atronach perks. Paralysis is so powerful, I stopped using it - almost feels like cheating! Have fun.
