Having finally collected all the pages to his Opus volume one, I couldn't help but laugh. Bethesda is the best! In his initial dialogue he refers to himself as "The Destroyer" or something to that effect. (To which I initially rolled my eyes & was like I've heard that before) Then you come to find out he went on a Cliffracer crusade & filled his days hunting them (lol). In his last encounter a wounded cliff racer he pursued lead him into a nest of cliffracers that descended upon him. In all he claims to have killed 70+ cliffracers before collapsing to his death, after which Vivec visited him?

Good man that Jiub. What a noble way to die, killing those wretched nuisances!

Sorry to bust your bubble but he didn't die in that event. He later died after moving to kvatch during the oblivion crisis according to his dialogue. But I agree he is our hero. Anybody who can eradicate all of the cliffracers deserves recognition.

I must have missed that. I had the impression that after that battle he fell to his knees & blacked out or something to that extent? When he regained brief consciousness he was infront of whom he believed was vivec, then somehow woke in the soul cairn?

I must have missed the lore you describe. Ah well, hes still worthy of praise. On my next Morrowind playthrough I am going to make song dedicated to Jiub & sing it while hunting the wretched things lol.

I haven't done the quest fully, so I'm not too sure if this actually happens, but I really hope you can rescue from the Soul Cairn. It upsets me that one of TES' best and most favored characters is subjected to such pain and horror for eternity. D:

I know it's a speculation and there really is no proof of it but page after page to me it all looked like bull [censored]. The words of a compulsive liar so he can be herald as a hero. Died in Kvatch because of a dremora? Killed all the cliff racers? The destroyer? Sounds like he made up to boost his ego or something.
