Blah blah blah see the Elder Scrolls VI Speculation thread and all that.
But yeah, I'd like to see the Dragonborn get some future recognition. Maybe a statue and a song or two wrote of him?
However, he cannot be the 'heir' of a Daedra. At the most he can mantle one (see Shivering Isles), but even then, the 'Dragonborn' title is taken away and he becomes the Daedra/Aedra he has mantled.
At the most, I'd want him revered like people look up to Ysgrammor. (Horrendous spelling I know, but you know what I'm saying. )
And I'd want to be a normal person who's not given any special divine gifts or blessing. So I can fight with my own bare hands, not with the gods or whoever behind me.
That's what I'd have preferred. Like I said, being a historical figure worthy of remembrance would be nice, like Ysgramor.
EDIT: I'm going to throw my [censored] [censored] computer out of the window in a minute if it keeps screwing up...
I read the thread wrong, but still would like a statue or two.
I think characters driven by destiny or 'the gods' aren't very interesting characters at all.
No.
I'd rather be like in Arena, Daggerfall and Oblivion: Normal person who EARNS his greatness, rather than be someone who was just born to be superior. Also, I don't want a repetition of Morrowind and Skyrim where 9 out of 10 of the playable races made no sense in the main plot. The three I mentioned were great because you could play as anyone and not feel left out.
I disagree that other playable races made no sense in the plots, especially in Morrowind where great detail was put into explaining why other races were not out of place, but I completely agree with earning greatness like in the first three games. When you earn something you get a sense of accomplishment.
Hell no. There's already way too many games that force us into the role of "the chosen one' and throw ancient prophecies and unavoidable destinies at us, I'd raher be a regular person for once. Though the series being called The Elder Scrolls, I doubt I can escape ancient prophecies.
I wouldn't be surprised if you start off as a prisoner of some sort.
They could easily do something similar to what Live another life mod does, it would allow a lot more roleplaying.
I think characters confronted with a certain destiny are more interesting.
But that requires that you don't simply accept the destiny and act accordingly without questions.
I just don't see it as either-or. Normal person + destiny, instead of normal person or destiny-driven person.
I am most interested in hearing what would make an Argonian Nerevarine make sense.
The whole plot seems to revolve strictly around Dunmer in my experience.
