Issue with transferring saves to a new pc

Post » Mon Sep 30, 2013 1:36 am

So I installed oblivion on my new pc and I transferred my old save files to the new pc via flashdrive. I put these saves (the .ess ones) in the oblivion folder.

My Documents>My Games>Oblivion. From what I read all I had to do was put the files in this folder and they should be in the new game. I tried starting up Oblivion and had no issues but when I went to load my game there were no save files. So did I miss a step or do something incorrectly? I'm running windows 8 if that helps at all. It does seem to make simple procedures overly complicated.

I believe they need to be in a directory named Save or Saves in the (My )Documents/(My )Games/Oblivion directory, I can't recall which name however.
