The kid mistakeningly thought you had promised you'd kill his father and he, believing that was so, warned a friend of his who had a father who worked for a gang. From there, the friend warned his father, who also liked Alvor, who then warned the thugs who then went after you. One of the thugs decided to give him credit by writing his name in rather than the name of his friend's father.
