How do you reach Long 15 & Dry Wells?!?

Post » Fri Oct 04, 2013 10:53 am

I took the Explorer perk & have discovered all the Mojave locations except Long 15 & Dry Wells. Long 15 is past the locked (unpickable) gate at Mojave Outpost. There is no key (not on MAJ Knight, Ranger Jackson, or SGT Kilborn Also not in any containers). Tried rock-climbing, but ran into invisible barrier. As for Dry Wells, it's beyond a shore-to-shore barrier fence that also reaches to the lake floor. Again, rock-climbing doesn't work. Anyone know how to reach these locations? My BP's already getting high enough due to the glitches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Spoiler alert

Spoiler

You need to blow those places up in The Divide by redirecting the nukes that Ulysses is about to set off.

Long 15 and Dry Wells cannot be explored un-nuked.

Play Lonesome Road, and all will be made clear to you.

I didn't think I recognized either of them from playing the vanilla version. Thanks!

You'll only get both if you nuke NCR and legion but worth it as they drop some decent loot there

here is a tip, nuke both sides before entering the lucky 38 and talking to benny. afterwards do so. there is a sort of a forgiveness thing. sort of buggy. but a chance side with the NCR or the legion.

Already well past talking to Benny. I was going for the pro-NCR ending this playthrough. I take it if I nuke NCR, they'll vilify me like the Legion. Guess I'll save beforehand to check out the loot, then decide to continue going independent or reloading & just nuking the Legion. Thanks for all your replies. :tops:

Well... the last thing a typical high-level player needs is 'more loot', heheh...

Therefore I decided on No More Nuking (so will never see those locations).

Whatever is there will be no great prize - plus it would be very heavily irradiated.

I will therefore prefer receiving the Idolization of the Followers and the BoS, every time! :)

I think about the after ending consequences. If both the legion and the ncr get nuked, they can't return in the mojave for some time, and a new faction can arise. But if you choose to stop the missiles, then the mojave is going to be under siege once again, and an army of robots cannot stand for long against human hordes.

Obviously, I'm talking about the indie mojave.

But you also forget that, by cutting off the NCR's citizens, you are now cut off from good resources and trade, no more brahmin barons, meaning no more meat, and with sharecroppers dwindling, means no vegetables as you cut out the NCR's cook who states the NCR has tons of Vegetables, but need some good ol fashion meat. Cutting those both off, you basically starve your own people. There's no order as the Courier leaves again (implied), and is relied on a robot. In the end, is it really worth nuking a giant trade route and thus forcing everyone to barely scraqe by and learn to grow farms they probably have no idea how? From what I've seen, most of them are pretty lazy, save for the Followers of the Apocalypse.

The loot is not that great, and you have to nuke your own side to get the loot that you can use. IE, if you want to get the NCR armor, you have to Nuke the NCR.
