OK to clean update.esm? : V

Is it OK/safe to clean update.esm?

I'm sure I read somewhere that you shouldn't, but BOSS is apparently telling me it contains 95 dirty records, and needs cleaning, so...

Its ok to clean every Bethesda esm file, except of course Skyrim.esm.
