Ok so I've been away from fallout 3 for some time and I had been busy with new vegas, skyrim and planet side 2 and I decided to head back on to F3 cause I have so many fond memories of it. Now keep in mind I just got my gaming PC ehhh 5 months or so back so before then I was playing fallout on Xbox and I'm still in the WOW faze of mods. Like I was playing vanilla F3 for years over and over and still enjoyed it. Well I decided to build my dream fallout for this play through. I followed Gophers instructional on how to make the perfect modded F3 and added some other mods that fit my personal preference, new raider armors, wasteland soldier armor etc. so I got all the new mods loaded and started up and I've enjoyed it immensely. All of the new creatures from MMM the new whether, realism everything. I discovered I quirky little thing about the mutant mod. It addd iguanas to the wasteland and I thought nothing of it just cute little animals to make into iguana bits. Well shortly after getting dog meat I hear this distant siren wailing through the wasteland. Then my stomach sinks it's the nuclear rain alarm I read about on the comments. A radiocative rain storm and I'm playing on very hard full realism no fast travel and I panic I begin running trying to find the nearest shelter and as I'm running a iguana crosses my path for no good reason I click on it I don't know why maybe to see if it made a little noise or something and to my surprise I picked it up! A message piped up on screen saying LIVE Iguana added and I was surprised but thought nothing of it and kept running. I found a small abandoned gas station right as the rain began to fall and cover the wasteland in radioactive h20. As I sat in the station I had my character get some food and water and I noticed I had the option to eat the iguana alive and I Simply could not eat it alive so I figured I'd just drop it from my inventory and the little fella starts moving around and sniffing the place and going about his business and it is such a little thing but I loved it. Just how I could carry this little animal and place it anywhere and as I sat in the gas station waiting for the radiation storm to pass I just watched this little critter scamper around the store and dig at the floor. I became very attached to a consumable item in the game...and I decided to name him Lenny. So he's just kinda became part of the team. My vault dweller, dogmeat and Lenny. Every time we stop in a town to resuply I let him out of my backpack to stretch his little legs. And explore and I can honestly say he is so much fun that the mod author probably never intended. When we go back to my house I even gave Lenny his own little area with some newspapers on the floor to sleep on. I've fallen back in love with F3 and it's a lot thanks to a little lizard intended to be a food item. Damn I love fallout.
