I had to mod that little scenario out Sir.

Used Amazing Follower Tweaks (AFT). Presumably the author felt the same way as part of this excellent mod 'dismisses' Lydia permanently from the bedroom to the kitchen.

Now each time I go downstairs she appears to be stood next to my spouse holding hands. Then they both bugger off upstairs without me.

Swings and Roundabouts Sir, swings and roundabouts...

I like to think they're staring at my character with revulsion, hatred, and fear, but are too cowardly to do anything more.

Lol. I often imagine my wife and housecarl get lonely while I'm adventuring and form a weird homo-erotic bond, sleeping together on those particularly cold skyrim nights. I come home all bloody and filthy and they seem to act strange and suspicious.

Also when I have multiple properties I just imagine the housecarl at homes where my wife doesn't live is my mistress. Right now I have a family home in windhelm with my wife Temba Wide Arms and my two daughters, then I have a bachelor pad in riften with my mistress Iona. Seems fitting to cheat in sleazy riften, living directly across from the brothel doesn't go unnoticed either. Then when you factor in the porch with the fishing rod, obviously a perfect way to spend a hungover day after a night of boozing and cheating and fighting, my character's got it made.
