Joining the Bandit faction

Post » Tue Oct 08, 2013 11:15 pm

In the UESP page showing batch files ( http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console#Guidelines_for_Using_Commands_in_Batch_Files ), alternate beginning, one of the console commands reads:

;Bandit Ally Factionplayer.addtofaction e0cd9 0

Does anyone know if this command is for ALL bandit holds and what the effects are?

I believe you are correct.. although I think the Silver Hand may be a different faction... not sure..

Be warned though, adding your character to a Hostile Faction such as the bandit or creature factions may break certain quests..

Yes. It will make all Bandits friendly to you. It makes you allied to the main Bandit faction.

just curious. Is there any dialogue possible with the bandits, or any bandits that sell anything after joining the faction.

my assumption would be that this is only possible through mods, but i would love to see them drop you in skyrim with a completely clean slate, and a chance to join every faction (including bandits) and do quests alongside them.

I'm probably going to use a mod for this but I wouldn't mind adding myself to the forsworn faction. Though there is a mod that adds you to their faction and keeps markarth guards friendly. I haven't tested it yet though.

Just generic dialogue I assume. You can possibly add those options I think.

You can add yourself to the the Undead faction, and guards will not attack you. So long as the faction you have doesn't have a negative affiliation with someone in specific, you'll be fine. This is because the Player character as an aggression of 1. For instance, adding yourself to the non-playable Stormcloak faction will make every single Imperial guard hostile to you. This is because the Stormcloak faction actually has a negative number against Imperial Legion.(I think it's negative 50, could actually be -100...)

Bandits & Forsworn faction do not have a negative relation with guards. What makes them "hostile" is their aggression being set to 3. The faction just keeps these very aggressives from attacking each other.

In strict game-mechanics talk, of course.

Are there more bandits in the game than townspeople? It sure seems like you'd have a lot of bros

I do that sometimes. Just to be able to travel from Markarth to Solitude in peace. Or if I'm a low level and/or haven't started the MQ yet.

player.addfac 43599 1

To return player.removefac 43599

(Though I'm more used to using the player.addtofaction command (from OB and FO3), which works just the same).

IMO if it can be done with the console there's less chance of the supposedly simple mod conflicting with anything else. Plus it's an extra mod slot for a more worthwhile mod later on.

Is that the forsworn faction ID? I just want my forsworn character using Live Another Life to not face hostile forsworn NPC. I think I would prefer to use console commands because they can be easier to undo AND don't effect multiple characters. As long as the Markarth guards are friendly and the correct NPC like bandits are hostile then I'm ok with that.
