This is probably a very old topic (As usual) but I'll just express my issue and hope for help. As a stormcloak, when I deliver Ulfric's axe back to him he has the whole conversation with galmar but the quest pretty much ends there at "Completed: get orders from Ulfric". Everytime he opens dialogue with me it is just the same war rambling instead of the join the fight dialogue. he'll keep following me opening dialogue. any help on how to force "battle for whiterun" to start or anything similar would be very helpful. As I've said i've got the legendary edition so all patched and no mods besides my random addiction to spawning multiple npc's in game.

What mods are you usiing? Are they up to date? Did you restart the game from an earlier save?

Strangely enough, I do not use mods. And yes, I restarted a couple times on earlier saves, though all 3 auto saves were on the same quest, sadly.

I'm having the same issue - my thread is a few topics down on the forum page so far, I've had no luck solving the issue. I just loaded a save from before my character joined the Stormcloaks, and have been playing differently. She won't be taking a side in the Civil War.

Do you have the quest "Season Unending" in your journal?
