How do you make an explosion happen?

I want to trigger the giant slam on the ground effect when a giant actor falls dead to the ground.

I have tired place at me with the explosion and a spell cast on the actor that had the explosion but so far no explosion.

I know the spell hit the actor because I had a test shader on it and the test shader appears.

I tried both my own and the standard explosion used for the giant stomp.

I really wish the place at me had worked as that would have been the simple way to do it.

Are you sure the problem isn't with your explosion? Ref.PlaceAtMe(kBoom) should work, or even the spell. The scripting method is used in vanilla skyrim to place explosions for the death of wisps.

Oh, ok,I will dig into it deeper then (try a few more existing explosions just to test), knowing that it CAN be done that way actually does help a lot.

Edit: Yes the place at me works! You were correct about the explosion itself as it was my property for the explosion not set right.
