how to disable the "other" editor markers in CK

Post » Tue Oct 15, 2013 2:26 pm

I know that standard editor markers can be toggled with 'M' shortcut key, but even this will leave certain marker-like objects in the render window that are very annoying and obstruct the working space and viewing paths. Examples include the pink acoustic space markers, certain fx meshes like all of the fxambsnowblowing snow whisps that cover the mountain sides and make it very difficult to make worldspace edits on objects that are obstructed by them.

So, does anyone know of a way to temporarily remove these objects from being rendered? Or any other workaround for this 'issue'?

Thanks

Yep, select any marker (or any object!) you want to hide and hit the "1" key twice. Hitting it one will turn the object slightly transparent, hitting it a second time will hide it completely. A third will reshow the object, but keep in mind if it is transparent or hidden it can't be selected. To unhide all objects, hit Alt+1.

Haha, don't mention it! I was just as excited when I found that trick out.

check view -> render window hotkeys. there's at least another one for toggling sound markers, maybe even more.

wow! thanks a MILLION!@#!@

I honestly wasn't expecting to get a favorable response to this inquiry, so this is beyond a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much! this is one of those things that has bothered me for the past ~9 months but there always seemed to be a more pressing issue to investigate or new technique to learn about. I'm glad I asked. Thanks again, to all who responded :)
