I'm doing the silver hand quest but don't want to turn into a werewolf, Its not part of the character I'm playing but I fully support the companions, is there a way around this? The wiki does'nt suggest anything usefull.. Thanks.

nope there is no way to avoid this if you want to advance in companions questlines you will have to become werewolf
Nope, the only warrior/fighter's guild in a country with a supposedly warrior culture requires you to become a mangy, smelly dog bound to Hircine whose mission is to kill off a group of bandits with silver swords.
Fantastic I know.
If you're playing on PC there is a mod. --> http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/22650/?
Thanks, is that the only way? I've got Legendary Edition of the game on pc if thats any help.
There might be other mods that do the same or similar. You could try searching the Steam workshop. I didn't since I don't use it. *shrug*
I abandoned the quest just before getting the quest to be a werewolf. So I'm a member of the Companions for what it's worth. but never advanced beyond that point. It's not like Daggerfall where you get ranks along the way, so unless you really want to have the Companions as companions/followers, you can just stop it there. The quest marker is also conveniently tucked under the Miscellaneous category rather than one unfinished quest by itself (and that quest, iirc, never disappears even if you complete the questline - "ask the other companions for work"), Skojr doesn't die, and you have full access to the hall other than the Harbinger's room. Seemed like a nice place for me to end it.
This is the only way and its an awesome mod. I use is myself.
Yeah, this is basically what I did. I RPd that my characters were so in awe of the Circle members and so eager to be accepted that they agreed. One character hated it and ended up curing herself, one turned out to love it and wouldn't consider curing herself!
Fortunately, there's really no penalty for being a werewolf other than losing the Well Rested bonus. You never have to use the Beast Form power and can play normally. I think there's more overhead with vampires where you start to look nasty if you don't feed and NPCs start to attack you etc. But being a werewolf is pretty much hidden. I played through to finish the questline at least once. When you get to a certain part in the quest, there's a way to cure the disease.
There's also a bug where NPC guards will keep commenting about fur growing out of your ears even after you're cured, but if you're on the PC there are mods to overcome this.
Oh yeah, right. They also talk about your wolfish grin. At first, this bothered me, now it just amuses me.
I think what bugs me the most is that there's no real benefit to finishing the Companions questline unless you play with a heavy dependency on followers. Then you get some great options. Otherwise, ehh...
What's even more amusing is all my characters are vampires but were once werewolves. The guards still comment about my wolfish grin.
If you get vampirism, it will remove/cure you of werewolfism. Then you can get cured of vampirism.
