Has anyone done this? ie making a hold specific character that never left their particular hold for the duration of that character? Seems like it would be kinda cool and really get you to focus on all the nooks and crannies of said hold.

A cool idea! But most major questlines take you around all of Skyrim so you'd be stuck doing the basic side quests

I think its a very interesting idea as well but I think you'll only get so far with it.

It would be an awesome idea if:

1. Holds where bigger.

2. You were to limit yourself by ignoring quests that take you all around Skyrim.

I've done it. I adore The Rift and played a character who spent her entire game there. I think I played that character to about level 42 or 43. Very fun. I've also thought of using an alternate start mod to start as a Forsworn and stay in in the Reach for entire game.

I know you could be based in one hold, and focus on one hold for quest sources. But, the game is going to send you to different places for some quests. So, you will have to RP that aspect somehow.

I think it would be feasible if exploration were the focus rather than quests.

Hence why the game should have had a bigger map, filled with even more things to do.
