so i alwayes wanted to play fallout new vegas

i played fallout 3 but i didnt have enough time to play it

so any way its my first 4 hours ingame and i guess i did somethings that could be wrong

first : im lvl 6 now and my gun skill is 56 is that alot for a low lvl like this?

i mean i choosed in the beginning 1-guns 2-repair 3-lock-pick

should i keep puting skill points into them or that is stupid

and i feel that i need more speech and barter skills ( i put 8 intelligence points i mean S.P.E.C.I.A.L points )

is that affects speech or not ? also a good advices on building the character could help ( im not lazy i like building my characters but i just need tips and tricks thats all )

the second thing is : i choosed to help the goodspring town and kill the other guys

so when i went to prim i wanted to help them and they needed a police officer or something so there are 2 choices

one : is the NCR outpost : and i didnt got enough speech to convince him

two : is the guy in the NCRCF : when i get in they all started to [censored] me soooo i killed them all :D there still some in the blocks but they are not much

so my question is > is killing meryes ( i didnt remember his name ) gonna affect the story badlly ?

and thanks guys for reading all this

ihope i can get good responses

and i know i will

There is no right or wrong way to play the game, so nothing you do is inherently a "bad" decision. This type of game is meant to be played how you want, and for me, I find it more fun to fallow the flow of the game rather then trying to work the game mechanics.

Guns , Lockpick, and Repair are pretty solid for a first time playthrough. You may want to drop some points into secondary skills (like Speech, Barter, or whatever else interests you). Having Intelligence at 8 will get you loads of skill points. If you have the DLCs you'll be able to max out all the skills if you choose to.

Killing Meyers won't affect your playthrough in a big way. There are other candidates to be Primm's sheriff.

Just wing it as you go. The first playthrough is the best, just enjoy it as you experience it.
